Essential cookies
These are needed for the site to work and are always on. They keep you signed in to your account, and keep you signed in securely (including when you use two-step sign-in). We don't use them for tracking.
Cookies for your display settings
If you change how the site looks (colour theme, text size, spacing, reduced motion or similar) from the Display settings page, we save your choices in a cookie called mtbe_display on your device so the site looks the same next time. It contains only those choices, is not linked to you, and lasts up to one year. Turn the settings back to "Standard" or clear your cookies to remove it.
Storage on your device for the games
The Trail Sign Match and Trivia games save your scores, sound preference and hints you have seen in your browser's own storage on your device. That information stays on your device and is not sent to us, except that if you choose to save a Trivia score, the initials you enter and the score are stored with us and shown on the game's leaderboard.
Sofa to Singletrack app usage
The Sofa to Singletrack app keeps a random id in your browser's own storage (not a cookie) so we can see roughly how many people are using the programme and whether they keep coming back. It isn't linked to your name, email or account, and no other information is sent with it.
Video
YouTube race videos are embedded via youtube-nocookie.com, which doesn't set tracking cookies until you press play.
Analytics
We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. If that ever changes, they'll only load after you've agreed to them.
