Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 16 September 2026
This site aims for WCAG 2.2 AA: semantic HTML, keyboard navigability, visible focus states, alt text, and sufficient colour contrast.
What's been checked
On 16 September 2026 we ran an automated scan (axe-core, the same engine used by most professional accessibility tooling) against every public page, testing against WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 A and AA rules. It found and we fixed:
- Insufficient colour contrast on orange and teal buttons and labels across the site (and the embedded Sofa to Singletrack programme), button colours were darkened to meet the 4.5:1 minimum for normal-size text.
- Search and entry form dropdowns (results search, race entry) that had no accessible name for screen reader users, labels were added.
- A horizontally-scrolling pricing table that couldn't be reached or scrolled by keyboard alone. It's now a focusable, labelled region.
Known gaps right now
- This was an automated scan, not a full manual audit, automated tools catch a meaningful chunk of issues but not everything (things like reading order, genuinely sensible focus order, or whether alt text is actually meaningful need a human, or someone using a screen reader for real).
- Pages that require signing in (your account, entries, profile) weren't included in this pass.
- Placeholder images may be missing final descriptive alt text.
- Video captioning depends on source footage once supplied.
